For Native Americans, pines represent wisdom and longevity. In the countries around the world where pine trees grow, many legends, beliefs, and folklore surround this magnificent tree. Aside from representing fertility, wisdom and longevity, the pine tree is a symbol of peace.

The pine tree and it's fruit the pine cone symbolizes the mission and values to which Matsu-Kai aspires. The evergreen represents an everlasting hope for fellowship of people from all walks of life. Just as the cones open to release their many seeds, Matsu-Kai strives to spread understanding of diverse cultures through language education.
